Our two leads were basically not in the same environment for the entire movie. Knowing this I had to show both leads but separate their experiences and storylines. To do this I proposed we use light. Our character who is lost in the jungle is in soft blue evening light, and the character who works remotely to organize rescue efforts is shown with warm orange light washing over her. That light transitioning from orange to blue not only is visually pleasing but cues the mental idea of two separate story lines. Getting to direct the concept, lighting, and creating the final key art for this one went off without a hitch!
